A while ago the lovely Dale of The Trinketspotter nominated me to do this. Here’s what it’s all about:
“Liebster” is a German word meaning dearest, sweetest, kindest, nicest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, welcome, sweetheart. The award is much like a chain letter and is used to encourage up and coming bloggers to grow their network.
What inspired the name of your blog?
At the time I was mildly obsessed with Demi Lovato’s ‘Skyscraper’. That and I liked the idea of skyscrapers and skylines, different kinds of horizons, city life and working hard.
If you could collaborate with any blogger, who would it be?
Honestly? Postsecret. Because I’m weird like that and love the idea behind the blog/site. The cathartic release of anonymous secret sharing.
If you could collaborate with any brand, which would it be?
Can we count book publishers as brands? Man, I’d love to be a serious book blogger.
What’s your favourite magazine?
I really loved seventeen (RIP my little beauty). Other than that I can’t really pick but I’m often found reading the following: Grazia, Company and Visi.
What’s your favourite pair of shoes?
My neon pink doc martens. But I don’t wear them that often as I feel like I don’t have as much personality as they do. I’m intimidated by my shoes.
What’s your favourite song lyric?
Oh my god. So many.
1. ‘This is not the sound of a new man / or a crispy realisation / it’s the sound of the unlocking / and lift away’ – Bon Iver’s ‘Re:Stacks’
2. The whole of Leonard Cohen’s ‘A Thousand Kisses Deep’ (the poem too, the poem has so much…more’
3. ‘My kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder’ Jeff Buckely’s ‘Lover, you should have come over’
4. ‘I thought of you / And where’d you’d gone / And the world spins madly on’ The Weepies’ ‘The World Spins Madly On’
I’ll stop there.
My questions to you, should you choose to accept dear friends, are:
A favourite, of course, explain the name of your blog.
A book you live by and swear everyone MUST read (and why).
Internet inspiration – which sites and bloggers do you visit all the time?
What’s your happy place?
Go go go!
