The April edition of seventeen went on sale yesterday – it’s our Denim-anic Music issue. So who better to be on the cover than Miss Nicki Minaj? While I’m not a massive fan of her music, she’s a definite hit with our fans and looks pretty smoking both on our cover and in the cover story. While I’ve had friends laugh in my face (literally) and been told by friend’s of friends that “I’m the cancer that’s destroying society”, I love what I do. I’m proud of it.
This month I wrote, yet again, a number of articles. From ‘Faking it ’til You Make It’ to ‘The Truth on Homeschooling’, I’m really happy with the balance of my work this month. From lighthearted to a lil more serious, I done me proud. Happily, I also received a letter about my article in last month’s issue – Be the It Girl You Wanna Be: Celebspirations – from a reader who said that it really helped her and made her day. And quite frankly, that’s all I want. To make just one reader’s day with something I’ve written. To pep them up, make them feel understood, challenge them or just make them giggle.
I don’t mind if people think what I do is silly, ridiculous or criminal – I love my job. And I’m proud to say that I work at seventeen magazine.
