The Week That Was

Another week gone by, time to reflect on the beginning of what I shall dub ‘The Birthday Week of Awesome’.

1. Found Closure
Β I think I’ve finally taken the steps towards finding closure on a friendship that’s been troubled for some time now. Like I mentioned before, I find it hard to let go of issues, but I’m slowly loosening my grip on wanting to make things work and realising that what’s best for me is space away from this.

2. Birthday Picnic
In the end, it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. It wasn’t bad at all, in fact. I had a lovely time with lovely friends and way too much sugar. It was chilled, peacefully and gorgeous – just what I wanted. Thanks again to all my lovely friends for making the day so amazing.

3. Got Back Into Music
It’s been ages since I listened to music on a regular basis. I used to listen in my car on the way to work but this Β year I started taking the train. I’ve finally recharged my iPod and loaded new music. Currently on rotation: Birdy, Emeli Sande, Neko Case and Boy & Bear.

4. FinishedΒ Crossed
I’ll do a review later, but I finished the second book in this trilogy. The third one isn’t out yet, which is a downer as I like to sprint through series. Quite frankly, this book was a lot stronger than the first in the series, although it does still drag at times. I liked that we saw from two different character’s view points, but I still question Cassia’s choice in love. Hrmph.

5. Shopped Emotionally
This has to stop happening.

6. Tried Out A New Recipe
Much like the marvelous Lines of Escape, I’ve decided to be more adventurous in my cooking. I made pork chops in a balsamic marinade with tomatoes and potatoes. It was a great success! Yum.

7. Relooked at Tarot
I was very into Tarot in Gr11 to first year, but I lost track of it for a while. I’m trying to get back into it now – refamiliarise myself with the cards and layouts. I find it a useful tool for introspection, though I suspect I introspect too much.
